Skanda Yoga Studio is a community based center offering practices that transform mind, body, and spirit.
The practice of Skanda Yoga honors the tradition of yoga in its application of alignment, functional movement, conscious breathwork, philosophy, and meditation techniques. The classes present traditional practices in a post-modern system based on the 13- moon calendar in order to align students with Nature’s cyclical patterns.
Each class has a specific intention and focus of action that is balanced for the body, invigorating for the mind, and uplifting for the spirit.
Our mission is to offer high-quality asana instruction and to present yoga as a Universal practice that is applicable and beneficial for all. We offer yoga classes for the experienced student and for those who are new to the yoga practice. In keeping with our mission we staff highly trained teachers that are committed to presenting yoga as holistic art and science that promotes health on all levels of being. We offer yoga classes all levels, workshops, immersions, and teacher trainings registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 200hr and 300hr levels.
Skanda Yoga Studio stays committed to executing its mission by offering donation based classes for the community, fundraising classes for charities, and ongoing public opportunities for integral practice and collaborative growth. We also offer scholarships for dedicated students in need of financial support. We believe that through proper technique instruction it is possible to be free of pain, injury, and stress. Our goal is for all students to find personal happiness and freedom through the practice of yoga.
