Kelly Raspberry’s aim as a yoga instructor is to serve as a guide for her students to connect with the teacher within. Kelly teaches from the principle that “you are your best teacher” and sees her role as one of inspirational guidance, to foster more awareness of the inner voice on and off the mat. Kelly is a passionate practitioner and it is her personal practice that inspires her teaching. In 2015, this passion for yoga led her to quit her academic research job and to pursue teaching full-time.
Kelly (RYT 200) identifies as a life-long student. She is certified in two 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Programs, in 2014 with Jason Lawner at Green Monkey, and in 2015 with Anand (Ken) Von Roenn III and Sadhana (Lina) Vallejo at Skanda Yoga. Always eager to deepen her knowledge, Kelly is currently participating in Skanda’s 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Kelly also served as apprentice and mentor at Skanda in 2017 for two 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs. Kelly holds a Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology and comes to the yoga mat with an academic background in the study of alternative medical systems and philosophies of health and well-being.
With over 20 years of yoga experience, Kelly draws on her long-standing enthusiasm for moving and expressing the body in different ways in her approach to making yoga an integral part of a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Kelly’s classes are an empowering and challenging blend of technique and inspiration, designed to leave you inwardly calm, physically satisfied, and smiling with contentment from the inside out.
