Darren Weissman is a passionate teacher from Miami, FL. He is a personal trainer, private basketball coach, run coach, and owns a non-profit. For the last 20 years, Darren has helped people reach and surpass their fitness and sport related goals. He first began his yoga journey in 2012 when he took his first yoga class at a community event. In 2013 he broke a Guinness World Record for running the fastest marathon while dribbling two basketballs making him famous as Doctor Dribble. He has completed over 50 marathons with his basketballs for charity and has appeared in ESPN, NBATV, Runner’s World, Competitor Magazine, and international news outlets around the world. After getting asked by Lululemon to be an ambassador, Darren began doing more yoga to support his friends in the community. Seeing that it would only add value to what he was currently doing and open doors of opportunity, Darren completed his 200 hour teacher training at Skanda Yoga. What he didn’t know at the time was that his interest in yoga would become his passion. Since completing his 200 hours, Darren has assisted with other teacher trainings and serves as a mentor for new yoga teachers. He is currently enrolled in Skanda Yoga’s 300 hour teacher training to complete his 500 hours. Darren enjoys learning, sharing, and making a positive impact in other people’s lives. Since he first walked into Skanda, Darren has inspired teachers and students with his incredible discipline. What he loves the most about being a yoga teacher is helping others discover their full potential in order to cultivate breakthroughs both on and off the mat. We are very proud to have Darren Weissman as part of our Skanda family. You can look for his classes on our schedule or work with him privately.
